Each moment is an opportunity to breathe and begin anew

Hi, I’m Katie. Mother, wife, lover of a cozy cup of tea, connecting conversations with good friends, and a good walk. Owner and founder of Nova Yoga.
As an ode to new beginnings, I started Nova Yoga after
leaving the military in 2020. I was recovering from burn out and ready to begin a calmer, more nourishing chapter of my life.

At Nova Yoga, each time we practice is an opportunity:

- to choose a new mindset,
- to find new ease in
chronically tense muscles,
- to practice a new way of being, rather than just doing
(aka pushing through on auto pilot
all day).

That is the magic of yoga
I LOVE sharing!

At Nova Yoga I practice what I call “embodied yoga”. My training and background is in Forrest Yoga (founded by Ana Forrest) as well as Brea Johnson’s wonderful Heart & Bones “Move With Love” anatomy-nerd style.

My style is a slower, more mindful version of vinyasa yoga. Rather than rushing from pose to pose, we take time to notice how each pose feels in our bodies. Props are encouraged and used often.

Yoga is so much MORE about how the pose feels than how it looks . So come move just as you are; no need to compare yourself to others in class. It’s amazing what wisdom comes up when we take the time to pause and tune in.

Remember, this is YOUR practice- it should feel good! I offer a variety of pose options and modifications in all my classes to make sure everyone feels supported.

Come and experience how good your body can feel.
